In Memory of

William Barber Macke, Jr.

Jun 9, 1954 – Jun 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of William Barber Macke, Jr., of Nashville, Tennessee.

Bill was a founding member of American Insurance Alliance and contributed greatly to the organization. Bill started Macke Insurance in 1983, insuring the Manufactured Housing Industry.  He served on the Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association and Foundation Board of Directors.  In earlier years, Bill worked with legislative committees in advancing manufactured housing to the Tennessee state legislators.

Bill was most known for his gregarious personality, his love of seafood, and most of all his frequent visits to the Varsity as he passed through Atlanta.  He loved to travel and was the life of the party.  He was a season ticket holder of the Tennessee Titans and loved his tailgating group. He was also a member Elks Lodge #2473 in Madison, TN and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 88 of Donelson, TN.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Vesta Mayo Macke Dalia of Daytona Beach, FL and his father, William Barber Macke, Sr. of Duluth, GA.  Bill Macke is survived by two sisters and a brother as well as eight nieces and nephews.
